HOW IS A FILM MADE?

BELOW ARE THE STEPS GENERALLY TAKEN, TO CREATE A VIDEO, BUT NOT ALL STEPS ARE NEEDED.

Pre-Production

Development: Concept creation, scriptwriting, and initial budgeting.

 

Planning: Scheduling, location scouting, and equipment rentals.

 

Casting and Crew: Selecting actors, hiring key crew members, and assembling the full production team.

 

Design: Developing costumes, production design, and storyboarding.

 

Legal and Logistics: Finalizing contracts, obtaining permits, and preparing for marketing and distribution.

Production

Shooting: Capturing all planned scenes, ensuring adherence to the script and shot list.

Direction: The director guides performances, making real-time decisions on acting, camera angles, and pacing.

Sound Recording: Capturing dialogue and sound effects on set, including monitoring audio quality.

Set Management: Overseeing set design and changes, managing props, and maintaining continuity.

Daily Reviews: Reviewing footage and audio daily (dailies) to assess quality and make necessary adjustments.

Post-Production

Editing: Assembling and cutting footage to create a cohesive story, including transitions and pacing.

Sound Design: Adding sound effects, music, and voiceovers, and mixing audio for clarity and impact.

Visual Effects: Incorporating any CGI or visual effects needed to enhance the film.

Color Grading: Adjusting color and lighting in the footage to achieve the desired visual tone.

Final Review and Distribution: Finalizing the cut, screening for feedback, and preparing for distribution, including marketing materials.
